The elusive Roman sound sculptor Panoram returns with Wandering Frames, a lush, genre-defying cut released via the esteemed Running Back label. Known for his offbeat sonic vision, Panoram has quietly carved a cult following in the global IDM underground, racking up over a million streams and catching the ears of tastemakers like Pitchfork, Mixmag, and The Vinyl Factory. His music has floated across the airwaves of RTÉ 2FM and made multiple appearances on revered platforms like NTS and Boiler Room. Even Thom Yorke gave him a nod, sliding one of his tracks into a Sonos-curated playlist.
A longtime member of the indie-psych outfit Amen Dunes, he’s spent the past decade touring across continents, gracing stages from Primavera Sound and Roskilde to Koko and the Teragram Ballroom. But it’s under his Panoram moniker that he truly lets loose, weaving sonic tapestries that defy genre, bending synths, moods, and time itself.
Think abstract pop melting into ambient haze, warped classical flirtations, and futuristic funk—all laced with a wink and nudge with ‘Wandering Frames’ being no exception. A slow-burning drift of hazy drums, celestial pads, and detuned saxophone meanderings, the track feels like a lucid dream unraveling. Fragmented vocals and ghostly childlike murmurs flicker in and out, like memories you can almost—but not quite—recall.

Speaking about the single Panoram said: “Wandering Frames was written to act as a frame within which to observe. I wanted to proceed through images. Each element has a shape and a role even if I like not to follow a precise hierarchy. Voice tones are used as a vanishing point to read what we see. The main melody was played on a computer keyboard to make it stammering and not in focus.I wanted all the different colours to be sort of drifting away from each other.”
