Deep within the depths of Iceland and across the volcanic planes, we find GIVVEN’s long-awaited EP, Losing Colours that’s slowly gaining momentum for all the right reasons. The EP features three carefully crafted singles, each telling their own tale of emotional growth and inner compassion. ‘Doubts’ stands out as the only track to have not been released ahead of the EP and the latest to be accompanied by a stunning video.

The video is a haunting depiction of mental health and not feeling as if you are able to rise above the weight of the world. Featuring breathtaking visuals and  a gripping performance, we cannot help but watch the intense storyline unfold to the grim concluding seconds, along with the crisp and memorable production stylings from the band. It is all-consuming, food for thought and nourishment for the mind and soul.

The trio give us a breakdown of the single: “‘Doubts’ immediately grabs your ear, opening with very close and floaty falsetto vocals. Tapping into electronic roots, ‘Doubts’ starts with a gentle verse and chorus before dipping, then diving into a deeply affected vocal chop and bass-led drop. Constantly moving in different directions, ‘Doubts’ mirrors the chaos of an inner voice that’s constantly trying to lead you astray. The music video for ‘Doubts’ is a smokey, magma-infused art piece showcasing a dancer battling with her inner demons amidst an active volcano and dark, steaming lava fields looming ominously in the background of every shot.”
