Sabrina Monique first appeared on our radar with her upbeat single, ‘More Than A Friend’ which was accompanied by an in-studio music video that reflected part of her creative process. The young songstress returns today with the downtempo single, ‘Sideshow’. The new single takes a fairly different approach, as ‘More Than A Friend’ was bold and full of attitude while ‘Sideshow’ is sombre and tender, focussing on more emotional lyrics.
The singer tells us about the creation of the song: “Sideshow is a song unlike anything I have written or put out before. A long time coming, this song is almost too personal to me, and I do not think I have opened up like this yet in my music journey. I spent longer than I’d like to admit writing and rewriting as I was on an emotional rollercoaster, and I’m excited for people to hear this vulnerable side of myself as well as my music.”
The artist was recently a contestant on season 3 of American Idol in 2020 and we’re expecting her to become a household name in the upcoming years.
