The track has been met with a great early with support, with plays from BBC Introducing and editorial support from Wonderland Magazine who premiered the video. Regarding the song Wonderland said, “When it comes to music and experimentation the possibilities are endless, and Liz Cass is proving this with her new single ‘Killers’. Gently easing us into a alt-pop soundscape filled with minimalist production and building synths, the artist puts her soothing vocals on full display while addressing mental heath through emotive lyricism.”

‘Killers’ is an expansive alt-pop track reflecting the emotive honest songwriting of the London-based singer as she addresses the encompassing effects of depression. The song sees Liz’s beautiful wide-ranging vocals rise above stunning electronic orchestral tones, which results in an intoxicating sound reminiscent to the likes of London Grammar, Lana Del Rey and La Roux.

Regarding the single Liz says, “‘Killers’ was the second song I ever wrote with my producer and co-writer Ed Graves. It finally felt like I was in a safe space to write about the post-natal depression and anxiety that I struggled with after I had my son.

“During that time I felt really disconnected from myself and crippled by it. I became afraid of the dark again as the panic attacks often came at night. I tend to write a lot about the complexities of relationships and toxic connections, but it felt important to use my music to help process this experience. I find music to be an amazing form of therapy. Some of the other songs coming on the album also touch on it as well.”

Killers’ is accompanied by a magnificent video which uses dance to reflect these themes, as Liz explains, “The video was directed by Conrad Gamble who is an old friend. I wanted it to communicate that feeling of being overcome by this crippling feeling that comes out of nowhere but in a subtle way. It was really special to have my younger sister Coline Atterbury in the video and she essentially represents the anxiety itself. In the end there’s a scene when she wraps her arms around me to provide some resolution as I make peace with it and realise I’m not in any real danger. The feeling never lasts and you always get back to yourself.”

Killers’ is the first taste of the exquisite forthcoming debut album from Liz Cass. It is a soulful touching record intertwined with rich electronics and atmospheric pop showcasing a singer bound to win hearts across the world with her captivating songwriting.
