‘Get Back’ the released track from woke muso, Wolf Saga, tingles one’s senses and plays with your imagination. Released on the 18th November 2020, the show-stopping tune was the first to drop off his self-titled album. Well, the epic journey for Saga saw him appear at the WayHome Festival (Neil Young, Sam Smith, Alt-J) as well as Wake The Giant Festival (Metric, July Talk). The artist was additionally a JUNO Masterclass Finalist in 2018 and was named RBC’s Canada’s emerging artist. Walking on a dream, at this moment, Saga’s musical influence ranges from Bowie, Caribou, Justice, Cut Copy and Daft Punk, while giving his music his own personal flavour.
Wolf Saga’s latest release is shrouded with catchy beats, while his music leaves your senses tingling while addressing social issues including serious ones such as Black lives Matter. The released track stems around an incident after Saga had relentlessly seen men bothering women in a Kensington Market nightclub. Addressing gender based violence, was no feat for this music megamind, as the tune fully drew from the social setting and gave a fresh perspective to a dramatic topic. Saga chose his moniker to honour the spirit of the wolf – a creature known for protecting its loved ones in Saga’s Ojibwe culture.
