Releasing their debut EP At Odds in 2018, Milan-based pop-punk duo Atwood has released new single ‘Out Of The Blue’. This release will feature on their second EP set for release in the months to come. Blending pop, rock, and synth embellishments to their sound, the band shows that they are a force to be explored, performing with the likes of renowned bands Eyes Set to Kill and Lost in recent years.
The band shares their excitement about the upcoming EP in the exclusive Q&A.
What are four words you would use to describe your music?
Energetic, deep, emotional, nostalgic.
How does a song come together for you? What is the songwriting process?
We start off from the instrumental and then add vocals. We usually start off with an idea, and then end up with something completely different! We fight a lot – but then find a compromise on everything.
What was the first album/CD you ever bought?
Alice: Linkin Park – Meteora
Daniele: Guns’n Roses – Chinese Democracy
What album do you know every word to?
Alice: Enter shikari – A Flash Flood Of Colour
Daniele: AWKOHAWNOH – Pvris
Share some advice for other bands/artists creating original music?
Never settle! Your music will always have room for improvement.
What is the most memorable response you have had to your music?
We’ve had people draw us and request our merch from the US – it’s actually incredible!
If you could create your own radio show, what kind of music would you feature and why?
We’d try and feature as many genres as possible – music is fluid, genres should merge one into another.
Tell us about your upcoming releases?
We’ve just released a brand new single called ‘Out of the blue; – more music will come, but we’re focusing on this one now. We have an EP planned for the beginning of 2021, though.
One last nugget of info you can’t wait to share with your fans?
We can’t wait to share our EP this year – this is something we’ve worked extremely hard on, so we hope it will exceed expectations! 🙂
