One Night is an irrefutable pop/R&B jam, that is playful and sexy, highlighted by ABISHA’s slick vocal. The song details the craving for one more night with a past love interest, after you’ve lost their trust and wish for more than anything to be able to show how sorry you are for hurting them.

On the single, ABISHA explains One Night was one of those songs that just needed to be written. I had so much emotion inside me and I needed so badly to release it. it’s sort of an apology and closure in the form of a song. As soon as I got to the studio I started writing because it was all so fresh within me and Toby Scott just nailed the production instantly and encapsulated the song perfectly”

ABISHA has announced herself as musician with a voice to be reckoned with, eclectic taste and a budding love for writing. One Night is the start of another chapter where she intends to breathe new life into the game.

In each song she shares with the world, the London-based alt-R&B artist embodies a quiet self-possession, an element especially evident in her sophisticated yet soulful vocal presence. But for the 25-year-old singer/songwriter, that confidence follows from overcoming profound insecurity, a journey closely tied to coming of age as a gay person of colour in her homeland of Devon. Imbued with both raw sensitivity and understated power, ABISHA’s music intimately documents her transformation through the years and ultimately speaks to the urgency of representation, and the radical beauty of self-acceptance.

ABISHA recently opened up a compelling conversation across her social platforms, detailing how it felt to grow up being the only biracial, queer woman in her hometown, before relocating to London in her late teens. She discussed empowerment and fighting for queer and Black visibility during a recent interview for the Solidarity issue of Gay Times. She also penned a personal essay entitled Stay In Your Power, where she discusses the power of music as therapy. With Pride season in full swing, ABISHA recently performed for PRIDE.COM’s Pride Inside virtual event, alongside Sinead Harnett and Dorian Electra

Since releasing her debut track ‘All That’ in 2017, ABISHA has drawn praise across i-D, High Snobiety, Hunger, Complex, Nylon, COLORS, Notion, DAZED, Billboard, Nylon and received immediate additions across Spotify playlists including New Music Friday UK, Spotify & Chill and Soultronic.

As a multifaceted talent, ABISHA has been honing her craft as a DJ, having played various festivals including Parklife, Reading and Wireless. Some artists reveal themselves in an instant. Others take the long way around, each release peeling back the layers of self slowly. For ABISHA, the case is very much the latter and unmistakably all on her own terms.
