Dark synthwave producer Das Mörtal returned with the double single ‘PARASITE & GHOST‘, this past weekend via Lisbon Lux Records. With over 31 million Spotify streams, Das Mörtal has built a substantial catalog of EPs and albums, earning international media and radio support. He has appeared at major festivals including Osheaga, Transmusicales de Rennes, FME, and Meg Festival, and has supported Vitalic, Perturbator, and Carpenter Brut on tour. Since 2015, he has played nearly 100 shows, including more than 70 dates across the US, UK, France, and Scandinavia. His tracks are regularly featured on key Spotify playlists such as Retrowave // Outrun and Darkwave.

’PARASITE‘ surges forward with a relentless darkwave pulse, its driving rhythms and vivid synths channeling the turmoil of illness. ‘GHOST‘ slips into witch-house-laced pop, where captivating vocals float above pounding kick drums designed to ignite the dance floor. Together, these tracks chart the course for Das Mörtal’s next chapter, resonating with fans of Vitalic, Perturbator, and Ø [phase]. They set the stage for his upcoming mini-album DECVY I, arriving October 29.

PARASITE‘ has a driving, intense sound, with pounding rhythms and sharp synths that create a sense of urgency. The darkwave style turns personal pain into a powerful, energizing experience. The vocals are embedded behind hazy textures that help aid the sonic tone set throughout.  In contrast, ‘GHOST‘ offers a haunting feel, with witch-house elements, airy vocals, and heavy beats that create a mysterious and distant mood.

Together, these tracks offer a glimpse into a mini-album forged from shadowy electronic alchemy, where occult-laced grooves and genre-blurring textures create music that is both club-ready and deeply reflective. They make for an edgy release that will have all the e-boys and e-girls bearing their fangs this summer season.

Das Mörtal had this to say: “An illness has affected my body for some time now, and ‘PARASITE‘ was made under a pain that I can’t quite shake off.”
