Alt-pop songstress Clara Mae has released the single and video for ‘Missing You Sucks’ via Universal Sweden.
Hailing from the small town Gävle, Mae has firmly established her music career and has worked alongside renowned artists such as David Guetta, Tiesto and Martin Jensen.
The new single sees the singer exploring the depths of heartbreak in a frank and candid manner – painting an accurate picture of awkward dates, useless therapy sessions, and generally pining for someone who has moved on. That said, it’s not all doom and gloom – the single has a surprisingly upbeat sound, and Mae’s vocals are clear as a bell.
She gives some insight into what inspired the track. “My latest single is about trying to get out of the grief and hopelessness a person feels after a breakup. You try everything to get over it but wherever you go or whatever you do, you’re hit with reminders of the person and end with that awful missing feeling. In the end, you want nothing more than to feel good again but it can take time, and missing someone like that can really suck.”
