South London based electrifying singer/songwriter FABER has fused soulful vocals with a rocky edge. From a young age, she was immersed into the world of music and her passion blossomed through playing the violin from age 6.

FABER shared her headstrong and passionate views of social issues and everyday life as she writes her debut album set to be released later on in 2020.

What are four words you would use to describe your music?
Soulful Sassy Pop Rock

How does a song come together for you? What is the songwriting process?
I usually make the melody and lyrics at the same time and then will have a tinkle on my keyboard with chords. If I can’t input what harmony I have cooked up in my head, I’ll bring it to someone else for some help! I then will make the full instrument arrangement.

What was the first album/CD you ever bought?
Avril Lavigne – “Let Go”

What album do you know every word to?
Beyonce – “Dangerously In Love”

Share some advice for other bands/artists creating original music?
Create create create! Never stop. Dabble with different genres and see what happens.

What is the most memorable response you have had to your music?
Either ‘This is fucking awesome!’ or ‘Do you usually shout when you sing?’ (Haha soz)

If you could create your own radio show, what kind of music would you feature and why?
Feel good funky tunes, because everyone loves a bop now and then and to shake a leg, and also weird genre collabs because of it’s always nice hearing the unexpected!

Tell us about your upcoming releases?
‘Time’ is a chilled soulful ballad about a love that hurts. ‘Time’ is about the heartache of being endlessly available for someone and willing to give them everything – only for it not to be reciprocated. It’s about the yearning, but also the part where you’ve had enough and need to move on. ‘Time’ comes out on the 12th February just before Valentine’s day so we can all mope around together (yay!).
