New album ‘Freak The Speaker’ announced via Jalepeño Records (27th September)
Massive UK and France tour announced this autumn
The Allergies are on a massive roll in 2024 with a string of killer singles preceding their new album Freak The Speaker in September. Previous single ‘No Flash’ was playlisted on BBC 6 Music in the UK and the band have had a summer long string of festival dates ahead of the album release tour.
For the latest sure shot single off their forthcoming album, The Allergies take us way back to New York club scene of the early 80s.
Re-working old school MC chants over strutting disco loops, this finger-snapping slice of retro realness is packed with sleek and slinky grooves, and a beat that won’t quit.
It’s a trip back to the golden age of disco rap, where stars were born and the music didn’t stop until the break of dawn. And The Allergies, schooled in the art of dusty vinyl digging and flipping, bring it all to life with 100% samples, the way it used to be.
Using wax-ripped vocals, they put the crowd-controlling hype-man front and centre, mastering the ceremony as their funky bass and drum chops keep the party on track. The rest of the era-specific cheers, cowbells, scratches and FX are just super juicy cherries on top.
‘Let Me Hear You Say’ a must for fans of the funk with that throwback flavour, and will be available from Jalapeno Records digitally and on a super cool limited edition 45.
