KID BE KID does not follow the rules when it comes to music she creates. She plays, produces, writes, sings, and beatboxes all of her music. She follows a range of different artists like Little Simz, Frank Ocean, IAMDDB, Ama Lou, Erykah Badu, Thom Yorke, Radiohead, Nina Simone, James Blake, Dorian Concept, Noname, Bill Evans, Flying Lotus, and Noga Erez. Her overall sound would fall under the avant-garde genre as Arca, FKA Twigs and Solange.

Her recent release ‘Blood’ was out on 14 February 2020, off of her upcoming EP Lovely Genders which is due on the 20th march 2020 via SPRINGSTOFF. The ‘Blood’ singer was born into a classical music family, both parents being musicians in that genre. Naturally, KID BE KID  went for music lessons of her own, which she was not too sure that she had found her calling in classical music. Soon, she began to write music that she liked and a passion started to bloom. Her life would never be the same after she met her Philosophy educator’s son, who would introduce her to the bold, energetic and colourful world of Jazz music. She would go on to specialize in jazz studies at university.

KID BE KID tells us more about her latest offering, “’Blood’ opens the EP directly with a warm, radiant synthesizer chord progression crowned with a vocal melody that meanders and searches until it finds rest. Reset. And then the song begins. Quiet piano. “You cut me out” and you hear the typical KID BE KID sound made of accomplished beatboxing, vocals appearing like samples, broad synth sounds, acoustic piano, and deep bass lines. A finely assorted rhythmic puzzle depicting deep feelings.”
